Recently, we had the pleasure of working with a customer who reached out after seeing our “Build a Van Your Way” service online. This tailored package allowed them to design a Mazda Bongo to their exact specifications, creating a camper that reflects their personal style and meets all their needs.
The Foundation: Selecting the Perfect Van
Our journey began with sourcing the ideal van. The customer specified they wanted a low-mileage vehicle with a reliable 2.5 V6 engine. After carefully reviewing our options, we selected a pristine van that would serve as the perfect canvas for their dream build.
Exterior Transformation
The customer chose a bold colour scheme for the respray, which we complemented by colour-coding the grills, mirrors, boot spoiler, and rear boot trim. These details made the exterior truly stand out, turning heads wherever it goes.
To ensure longevity and durability, we gave the chassis a full rubdown and applied a comprehensive underseal. All suspension components were carefully sanded down and finished in matte black for a clean, polished look.
Interior Customization
The interior was where this van truly became a one-of-a-kind masterpiece. The customer worked with us to select the colour for their slimline pod and rock-and-roll bed, both of which were hand-built in-house. These features included an under-seat fridge freezer for maximum functionality on the road.
The seating and trim were entirely reimagined. The customer opted for a sleek grey stretch material to cover the seats, rock-and-roll bed, and door card tops. This cohesive look was paired with refurbished carpets, brand-new safety flooring, and custom floor mats featuring the Mazda Bongo Auto Centre logo.
Added Comfort and Features
For comfort and practicality, the van was equipped with:
- A passenger captain seat, as requested.
- A slimline solar panel with an MPPT fast charge controller for off-grid adventures.
- An 8kW diesel night heater, ensuring cozy nights no matter the weather.
- A touchscreen Bluetooth media player with Apple and Android CarPlay, paired with a reverse camera for easy navigation.
- A 240V hookup, split charge system, and leisure battery with USB ports and 12V lighting for convenience.
Wheels, Brakes, and Finishing Touches
The van received new brakes all around and fully refurbished genuine Mazda Bongo alloy wheels for a factory-fresh appearance. We also added new number plates featuring our logo to complete the polished look.
As with all our builds, the vehicle underwent a comprehensive service before delivery, ensuring it was in peak condition for its new owner.
