Restoring strength, style, and comfort to another cherished Bongo
Some Bongos arrive for a touch of care, while others come in needing a proper refresh to keep them on the road for years to come. This van came to us for exactly that — a full Bronze Mazda Bongo Restoration Package combined with some structural welding repairs and a few modern comfort upgrades.
Restoring the Bodywork
We began with our Bronze Restoration Package, which includes new genuine rear wheel arches and a bottom half respray in the customer’s chosen colour, Spitfire Yellow. This is one of our most popular packages for good reason — it gives every Bongo a clean, factory-fresh look while protecting it from corrosion and road wear.
Both front and rear bumpers were repainted, and every imperfection on the lower half of the bodywork was carefully repaired and refinished. The transformation gave the van a beautiful, even shine that will last for years.
Strengthening the Structure
While the van was in our workshop, we discovered a few areas that needed attention to ensure long-term safety and MOT readiness. The nearside front outer sill required two significant repairs, and the nearside rear crossmember corner had corroded enough to need full replacement.
Our welding team cut out all the affected metal and replaced it with freshly fabricated panels, fully seam-welded and protected for long-term durability. Once complete, the underside was cleaned, treated, and sealed to protect against moisture and road salt.
Added Comfort with an 8KW Diesel Night Heater
To finish off the restoration, the owner wanted to make the van more comfortable for year-round use. We supplied and fitted a new 8KW diesel night heater, complete with remote control fob, providing powerful, reliable warmth for winter camping and early-morning adventures.
With this addition, the van is not only solid and beautiful once again, but also far more practical for every season.

This Bongo left our workshop stronger, warmer, and more striking than ever. The combination of professional body restoration, expert welding, and modern heating means it is now ready for many more years of travel and enjoyment.
