When a customer from the Isle of Man reached out to us after seeing our work, they knew exactly what they wanted a Mazda Bongo tailored to their exact needs without any limitations. We were excited to take on the challenge and deliver a fully customized van that would be perfect for their adventures.
The Search for the Perfect Bongo
We started by sourcing a low mileage Mazda Bongo that would be the foundation for this incredible transformation. Once we found the right van, we got to work, and what followed was a true collaboration between our team and the customer to bring their vision to life.
A Slimline Conversion with a Personal Touch
One of the key requests was a slimline side conversion with a roof locker, keeping the interior sleek and functional. We hand-built the slimline pod with a twin gas hob and sink with a tap, adding a new in house built extra wide rock n’ roll bed that included an under-seat fridge/freezer and a custom built one off hidden toilet. These extra wide beds allow for 2 adults to comfortably sleep next to one another, unlike the standard width beds. Every element of the pod was custom-made in-house by our fabricators, and the colour was hand-picked by the customer for a truly personal touch.
Interior Design Done Right
To match the customer’s design vision, we retrimmed the front seats and rock n’ roll bed with their chosen fabric. The front passenger seat was transformed into a captain’s chair, and we installed 12v lighting throughout the van. For added comfort and functionality, we included a 240v hook-up with twin power sockets, as well as a 160w solar panel with a fast-charge controller, ensuring off-grid capabilities for all their camping needs.
Equipped for Adventure
This van was also equipped with an 8kw diesel night heater for those colder nights, and a leisure battery with a split charge system to keep everything running smoothly. Multi-point USB sockets were installed in the rear, perfect for charging devices on the go.
Full Mechanical Overhaul
To ensure the van was as reliable as it was beautiful, we carried out a major service of the engine and gearbox, along with a thorough check of all mechanical components. The underbody was fully undersealed for future protection, and we refurbished the alloy wheels and fitted new tyres. To top it all off, we put it through a 12-month MOT with no advisories.

This custom Bongo not only looked incredible but was mechanically sound and adventure-ready. To give the customer peace of mind, we provided a 6-month warranty and after-sales package.
