The customer came to us wanting something specific. Not just another campervan, but a Bongo built exactly how they wanted it, with the right layout, the right finish and the right features throughout.
Instead of trying to compromise with what was already available, we sourced the right van and built it around their requirements from the ground up.
The result is a fresh import Mazda Bongo that feels personal in every detail.
Starting with the Right Foundation
Every good build starts with the right base vehicle.
For this project, we sourced a T registration facelift Mazda Bongo fresh import with an exceptional Grade 4.5 condition rating and just 40,000 miles from new.
Finding a van in this sort of condition is becoming increasingly difficult, especially with mileage this low.
Because of this, it provided the perfect foundation for a high quality custom build.
Built Around Comfort and Space
One of the standout features of this custom Mazda Bongo build is the interior layout.
The van was fitted with one of our signature ultra wide rock and roll beds, complete with three integrated seat belts. This creates a far more spacious and comfortable sleeping area while still maintaining practicality for travelling.
Twin front swivel seats were also installed, helping open up the living space and creating a far more social and usable interior when parked.
As a result, the van feels much larger and more open inside than many traditional layouts.
Designed for Real Adventures
The specification of this build was chosen to make the van genuinely usable for longer trips and weekends away.
Features include:
- Under seat fridge freezer
- 240V hook up with power sockets
- Multiple USB charging points
- 12V lighting throughout
- Roof bed sleeping space for two adults
- Brand new pop top roof
This combination gives the van everything needed for comfortable travel while still keeping the interior clean and uncluttered.
A Warmer, More Premium Interior Finish
Attention to detail played a huge part in this build.
The interior was finished using anthracite stretch material across the trim and door cards, giving the van a much warmer and more premium feel inside.
Combined with refurbished carpeting and safety flooring throughout, the result is an interior that feels modern, durable and comfortable all at once.
These details make a huge difference in how the van feels day to day.
A Colour That Completely Changes in the Sunlight
To complete the transformation, the van was finished in a metallic pearlescent gold colour that completely changes character depending on the light.
In normal conditions it carries a clean metallic tone, but once the sunlight hits it properly, the pearl effect really comes alive.
It is subtle enough to remain classy while still standing out from standard finishes.
The result is a van that looks just as impressive parked up as it does out on the road.
Built to Feel Special

Today, this Bongo left us and headed off to its new home.
That is always a proud moment with a build like this. Seeing a fresh import transformed into something unique and then handed over to an owner who has been involved in the vision from the start.
