A Bongo Ready for a Fresh New Chapter
This Mazda Bongo Bronze restoration began with a van that still had plenty to offer, although the lower bodywork was starting to show its age. As is often the case, the upper half remained presentable, while the lower sections had faded and worn over time.
However, rather than letting things decline further, the decision was made to step in early and carry out a proper transformation.
As a result, this build focused on restoring strength where needed while completely refreshing the appearance with a bold new finish.
Where the Wear Starts to Show
Before beginning this Mazda Bongo Bronze restoration, we carried out a full assessment of the lower half. This is always where Bongos begin to show signs of age.
The rear arches had started to deteriorate, while the lower panels had lost their original finish. Although nothing unusual, it was clear that the van needed more than a cosmetic tidy-up.
Therefore, the Bronze package provided the ideal balance between structural improvement and visual upgrade.
Replacing Rear Arches the Right Way
As part of this Mazda Bongo Bronze restoration, we supplied and fitted new rear wheel arches. This is a key stage in restoring both the look and integrity of the van.
We removed the affected sections and prepared the surrounding metalwork properly before installing the new arches. Everything was aligned and blended carefully to achieve a clean and consistent finish.
This not only improves appearance but also strengthens one of the most vulnerable areas of the vehicle.
Preparing Every Panel for Paint
With the structural work complete, the focus shifted to preparation. This stage is what defines the final result.
We worked through the lower panels, addressing imperfections and ensuring a smooth surface throughout. Because of this, the van was fully ready for paint without compromise.

A Metallic Purple Finish That Transforms the Van
This is where the Mazda Bongo Bronze restoration really comes to life.
The lower half was resprayed in a metallic purple finish, giving the van a completely new identity. This colour choice adds depth, shine and a strong visual contrast against the upper half.
In addition, the front and rear bumpers were refinished to match, tying the whole look together.
As a result, what was once tired and faded now stands out with a clean, modern and eye-catching finish.

More Than Just a Visual Upgrade
While the transformation is clear to see, this Mazda Bongo Bronze restoration is not just about appearance.
By addressing the rear arches and properly preparing the lower bodywork, the van is now better protected against future wear and corrosion. This ensures it is not only looking better, but also built to last.
A Bongo That Stands Out for the Right Reasons
By the end of this Mazda Bongo Bronze restoration, the difference is immediate.
The metallic purple lower half gives the van a fresh, distinctive look, while the new arches and careful preparation ensure it has the strength and durability to match.
More importantly, this is a Bongo that is ready to be enjoyed again, with both style and confidence.
