A New Generation of Mazda Bongo Conversion Layouts

More Choice, Better Builds, Smarter Layouts

We are proud to introduce a completely new range of Mazda Bongo conversion layouts, designed to give you more flexibility than ever before when building your ideal camper.

For years, our side conversion has set the standard. It remains our most popular and most requested setup, offering a fully equipped, ready-to-use camper that delivers on practicality and comfort.

However, not every Bongo owner uses their van in the same way.

Because of this, we have developed two new rear conversion layouts that offer a completely different approach to space, comfort and usability. These are not variations of the same idea. They are purpose-built options designed to suit different travel styles.

This is not about replacing what works. It is about expanding what is possible.

Built Around How You Actually Use Your Bongo

Every conversion we design starts with the same question. How will this van actually be used?

Some owners want everything built in and ready to go. Others prefer more open spaces that can adapt to the trip. Some prioritise storage, while others care most about sleeping comfort.

Rather than forcing a single layout to try to do everything, this new range allows each design to do one job properly.

As a result, each layout feels more natural to use and better suited to real-world conditions.

Rear Conversion Layout: A More Open Way to Travel

Our new Mazda Bongo rear conversion has been designed to create a more open and flexible interior.

The key difference is the seating position. The rock-and-roll bed is mounted at the front of the rear space, facing backwards into the van. This immediately changes how the interior feels.

Instead of dividing the van into separate sections, the space opens up.

Because of this:

  • The living area feels larger and less confined
  • Seating becomes more social and better suited to relaxing
  • Movement around the van is easier and more natural

This layout works particularly well for day use, short stops and evenings spent inside the van. It allows you to use the space without feeling restricted by fixed furniture.

It is a simple idea, but the difference it makes is significant.

We have several vans currently under construction, including the one pictured below. This one will be ready to go soon!

Ultra Wide Bed Layout: Designed for Proper Comfort

For those who want more from their sleeping setup, the ultra-wide bed layout takes the rear conversion concept further.

This version focuses on one key improvement. Space where it matters most.

By increasing the bed width, this layout creates a far more comfortable sleeping area. It moves away from the compromise that is often associated with campervan beds and instead delivers something that feels closer to a proper overnight setup.

Because of this:

  • There is noticeably more room to sleep
  • Comfort is improved for longer trips
  • It is better suited to couples who need more space

This layout is ideal for those who plan to spend extended time in their Bongo and want the sleeping experience to match the rest of the build.

It keeps the open feel of the rear conversion while adding a clear upgrade in comfort.

Side Conversion: The Proven and Fully Equipped Option

While the new layouts offer a fresh approach, our Mazda Bongo side conversion remains the most popular choice.

It has been developed, refined and tested across countless builds. It delivers a complete camper solution with everything integrated into one practical layout.

Key features include:

  • Built-in cabinetry and storage systems
  • Integrated fridge freezer for food and drink
  • Worktop space for preparation and use
  • Full electrical setup with a leisure battery and a hook-up
  • Rock and roll bed positioned within a structured layout

This is the ideal setup for those who want a fully equipped camper without needing to adapt or rearrange the space. Everything has its place, and everything is ready to use.

For many customers, this remains the benchmark.

Understanding the Differences Between Layouts

With more choice comes the need to choose correctly. Each Mazda Bongo conversion layout is designed with a different priority in mind.

The rear conversion is best suited to those who want:

  • A more open and adaptable space
  • A layout that feels less fixed and more flexible
  • A social environment when parked

The ultra-wide layout is best suited to those who want:

  • Maximum comfort when sleeping
  • A more spacious overnight setup
  • A layout designed around longer trips

The side conversion is best suited to those who want:

  • A fully equipped campervan setup
  • Built-in storage, appliances and systems
  • A traditional and highly practical layout

None of these options is better than the others. They are simply designed for different ways of using the van.

A Range That Adapts to Your Needs

One of the biggest advantages of this new Mazda Bongo conversion range is the ability to tailor each build.

All layouts can be combined with a wide range of upgrades, allowing you to build a van that fits your exact requirements.

All of our you van your way conversions come with a wide choice of flooring, stretch material for the walls, furniture colours, seat fabrics, stitch patterns, and so much more!

Available options include:

  • Pop-top roofs with an upper bed that comfortably sleeps two adults
  • Swivel passenger seat
  • Diesel heaters for reliable warmth in colder conditions
  • Solar panel systems for off-grid travel
  • 240V hook-up systems and leisure battery installations
  • USB sockets
  • Leisure battery and split charge system
  • Sink with Twin gas burner
  • Fridge freezers and additional storage solutions
  • LED lighting throughout the interior
  • Modern media systems with Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth and reversing camera

It is important to note that swivel passenger seats are compatible with side and ultra-wide conversions, helping to open up the living space. However, they are not used in rear conversion layouts due to the different seating arrangement.

This ensures each layout functions exactly as intended.

Built to Last, Not Just to Look Good

Every Mazda Bongo conversion we produce is built with long-term use in mind.

We do not build for display. We build for real use. That means materials that last, finishes that hold up over time and layouts that continue to work long after the build is complete.

Attention to detail remains consistent across every layout, whether it is a rear conversion, an ultra-wide build, or a side conversion.

Because of this, you can expect the same level of quality regardless of which option you choose.

A Smarter Way to Build Your Bongo

This new range of Mazda Bongo conversion layouts represents a shift in how these vans can be designed and used.

Instead of one layout trying to do everything, you now have the option to choose a design that genuinely fits your needs.

Whether that means open space, maximum comfort or a fully equipped setup, there is now a solution that delivers exactly that.

The Right Layout Makes All the Difference

Choosing the right layout is one of the most important decisions when building a Mazda Bongo.

It affects how the van feels, how it functions and how enjoyable it is to use over time.

With this new range, you are no longer limited to a single approach. You can choose a layout that matches how you travel, relax, and use your van.

So whether you have your own bongo begging for a conversion or are interested in a low-mileage, rust-free import, we have got you covered.

That is what this launch is really about.
