Mazda Bongo Raptor Paint Conversion in Sand and Black

Some builds follow a familiar path.
Others push things somewhere completely new.

This Mazda Bongo came to us from the other end of the country, with a clear vision and a willingness to do something different. The owner had already put their own personal touch on the van with a private registration, but they wanted more.

They wanted something unique. Something durable. Something that would stand out and last.

So we built it.

Starting with a Clean, Solid Base

The van itself was already a very clean example. That gave us the perfect foundation to work from.

However, it was missing one key element. It had no rear conversion.

So before we could even begin the transformation on the outside, we needed to build a functional and practical interior that matched the owner’s plans for using the van.

Supplying and Fitting a Full Rear Conversion

We supplied and fitted a second-hand rear conversion to turn the van into a proper camper.

This included:

• Rock and roll bed
• Passenger side swivel seat
• Sink and tap with water storage tanks
• 12 volt lighting
• Multiple USB charging points
• 240 volt hook up
• Split charge system to a leisure battery
• New safety flooring throughout

The rear was fully rewired to ensure everything worked reliably and safely.

With that in place, the van was no longer just a shell. It was ready for real use.

A Raptor Paint Finish Built to Last

Then came the part that truly set this Bongo apart.

The owner wanted a finish we had not carried out before on a full Bongo. A sand coloured Raptor paint across the body, paired with a black Raptor roof and matching black details.

Raptor paint is known for its durability. It is designed to be tough, scratch resistant and capable of handling real world use without the constant worry of marks and chips.

We applied the sand Raptor finish across the main body, giving the van a rugged, textured look that feels completely different to traditional paint.

The roof, spoilers, grille surrounds and mirrors were finished in black Raptor to create contrast and tie the whole design together.

Even the lower areas were carried through to maintain consistency across the build.

Custom Wheels to Match the Build

The wheels were stripped back, refurbished and refinished to match the overall look.

They were painted in the same sand Raptor finish, paired with black centre caps to complement the rest of the van. The tyres were then refitted and balanced, completing the stance.

It is details like this that turn a good idea into a complete build.

A One Off Finish with Real Purpose

This is not just about appearance.

Raptor paint offers a level of durability that standard paint cannot match. It is far more resistant to scratches, chips and everyday wear. For a campervan that will be used, travelled in and enjoyed, that makes a real difference.

The result is a Mazda Bongo that looks bold, feels tough and is ready for real life use without compromise.
