When this Mazda Bongo first arrived at our workshop, it had certainly seen better days.
Years of use had taken their toll. The paintwork was tired, the lacquer had peeled across much of the body, the rear wheel arches were beginning to rust and countless dents and scratches had slowly stolen the pride the owner once had in their camper.
Many people would have looked at it and started searching for another van.
Our customer had a different idea.
They didn’t want another Bongo.
They wanted their Bongo brought back to life.
A Vision Unlike Any Other
One of the best parts of our job is turning ideas into reality.
The customer didn’t ask us to restore the van back to factory condition.
Instead, they wanted something completely unique.
Their vision was bold.
The body would be finished in a striking Welsh Dragon Green.
The roof would become black.
The bumpers would become black.
The wheels would become black.
A colour combination unlike anything else on the road.

Starting with the Right Foundations
Before any paint could be applied, the restoration had to begin properly.
As part of our Silver Restoration Package, we replaced both rear wheel arches with genuine Mazda panels before carrying out bodywork repairs across the vehicle.
Every dent, scratch and damaged panel was repaired and prepared to ensure the finished paintwork would look every bit as good as the owner imagined.
The preparation is what makes the difference.
A great paint finish always starts long before the spray gun comes out.
A Colour That Turns Heads
Once the bodywork was complete, it was time for the transformation.
The rich Welsh Dragon Green instantly gave the Bongo a completely different personality.
Combined with the contrasting black roof, black bumpers and black wheels, the camper looked dramatically more modern while retaining the character that makes the Mazda Bongo so iconic.
It wasn’t simply refreshed.
It was reinvented.
A New Interior to Match
The exterior wasn’t the only thing receiving attention.
The existing pod conversion was removed and replaced with one of our signature ultra wide rock and roll beds.
This instantly transformed both the comfort and practicality of the camper.
Additional upgrades included:
- New lino flooring
- Leisure battery system
- USB charging points
The result was a cleaner, more modern interior that perfectly matched the striking new exterior.
