Some people come to us with a van that needs transforming. Others come to us with something even more exciting, a dream.
This customer didn’t own a Mazda Bongo when they first got in touch. What they had was a clear vision of what their perfect camper should be. They wanted something unique, something built from the ground up, and something that reflected their style and love for adventure. So we sourced the perfect base: a freshly imported 2.0 petrol pop top Mazda Bongo in exceptional condition. From there, the real transformation began.
The Foundation of a Dream
Every great build starts with preparation. Before this Bongo ever touched a British road, it underwent a comprehensive rubdown and full underseal treatment to protect the underside from the elements for years to come.
Mechanically, the van received a complete engine, gearbox, and differential service, including all new filters and fluids. We inspected every seal, checked every component, and ensured the vehicle was in perfect health before continuing. A coolant alarm was installed for extra protection, giving peace of mind that the engine will always stay safely within temperature.
The Exterior: Classic Silver with a Modern Edge
The customer loved the classic look of the original metallic silver paintwork, so we gave it a full machine polish to bring back its factory shine. To add a touch of personality, we refurbished the alloy wheels in deep gloss black, creating a perfect contrast that gives the van a clean, contemporary look while keeping the elegance of the original finish.
The result is a camper that feels both timeless and bold, a Bongo that turns heads without shouting for attention.
The Interior: Built Completely Around the Customer
Inside, this van is pure craftsmanship. The customer chose a full side conversion, finished in gloss black with matching tambour doors and a black switch pack for a seamless modern look.
Lighting plays a big part in any good conversion, so we fitted LED lighting throughout to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
At the heart of the layout is an ultra-wide rock and roll bed, trimmed in black honeycomb upholstery with grey stitching and piping. Above it, a new addition to our pop tops, a lift-up bed which allows for an extra sleeping area for two adults, while providing full standing height, without the need to store roof boards during the day.
Every door panel was recovered in anthracite stretch material, adding a soft, luxurious finish to the interior. The passenger seat was fitted with a swivel base, making the living space open and sociable when parked.
Fully Equipped for Life on the Road
Every detail in this Bongo was chosen with purpose. From the premium finishes to the functionality, it is a camper designed to be enjoyed in every season.
The kitchen area features a twin gas hob, sink and tap, underseat fridge freezer, and plenty of storage space. A fold-away smart TV was fitted for entertainment on the move, with roof lockers and multiple compartments providing space for clothes, cooking gear, and camping essentials.
Power comes from a complete leisure battery and split charge system, supported by a 240V hook-up with twin sockets and multiple USB charging points. A solar panel with an MPPT controller ensures power independence for off-grid camping.
Combined with LED lighting, this setup allows for true freedom, wherever the road leads.
Built for Comfort and Reliability
Behind the style and convenience, this van is built to last. Every fitting, seal, and joint has been installed by our in-house team of specialists who understand Bongos better than anyone.
Before delivery, we carried out final testing, road checks, and quality assurance to ensure every system worked perfectly. The van was then presented with a 12-month MOT with no advisories, a 12-month parts and labour warranty, and our industry-leading aftersales package:
